Syria, Cuba to enhance cooperation in the health field

Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Health Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabbash, discussed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba, Luis Mariano Fernandez Rodriguez means of enhancing cooperation in the health field for the benefit of both countries.

During a meeting held on Wednesday in the Ministry’s building, Minister Al-Ghabbash affirmed the depth of relations between the two countries at all levels. He appreciated Cuba’s support for the Syrian people during the earthquake disaster by sending humanitarian and medical aid.

Al-Ghabbash added that Cuba is very advanced in the technical field and pharmaceutical industries, especially cancer drugs and specific medicines.

In turn, the Cuban ambassador indicated his country’s desire and willingness to work and strengthen joint coordination in the field of training human cadres to exchange experiences that would raise the scientific level of health cadres.

He said that Cuba has extensive experience in the field of research related to the pharmaceutical field and the subject of nursing.
