Syria condemns US aggression on its eastern region, categorically rejects US lies to justify this aggression
Syria on Saturday condemned the US aggression that targeted the country’s eastern region this dawn and categorically rejected all the lies promoted by the US administration to justify this aggression.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Saturday that the attack by the United States on Syrian territory is added to its record of violations against Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and on the safety of its people.
The aggression proves once again that the US is the main source of global instability and that its military forces threaten international peace and security, the ministry added, stressing that this crime would dangerously fuel the conflict in the region.
“It is not surprising that the American attack targets the eastern region of Syria, where the Syrian forces are fighting the remnants of ISIS terrorist organization, while the United States is working to revive ISIS terrorist activity,” the Ministry explained.
The Ministry indicated that the US attack yesterday on several areas in Deir Ezzor governorate, while the American forces continue to occupy parts of Syrian territory, is clear evidence that the US administration lacks respect for the UN Charter and the principles of the international law, and that its goal is always to provide support to its terrorist tools it has established to serve its agendas.
The ministry made it clear that Syria is deeply concerned about the state of paralysis the UN Security Council is suffering from due to the United States obstructing its ability to assume its responsibilities in stopping all these serious violations of the provisions of the UN Charter and the principles of the international law.
Syria stresses that this new violation of Syrian sovereignty is part of the violations committed by the United States in the country, including through acts of aggression by the alleged international coalition that it established since 2014, and its blatant support for terrorism, killing of civilians and continuous plundering the Syrian national wealth, the ministry concluded.
