Syria appreciates humanitarian initiatives of Belarus towards the Syrian people: Al-Omrani

During his meeting with the Belarusian  Deputy Minister of Defense, Head of the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Belarusian Ministry of defense, Valery Revnenko, the Syrian Ambassador to Belarus, Mohamed Ol-Amrani, expressed high appreciation for Belarus’ humanitarian initiatives towards Syria and the Syrian people, which show the noble human spirit of the Belarusian leadership and people.

During the meeting, Al-Omrani referred to the strong historical friendship between Syria and Belarus and affirmed Syria’s permanent desire to strengthen these relations in various fields and in the face of the common challenges faced by both countries, for the benefit and interest of the two friendly peoples.

Al-Omrani delivered to Rivnenko a letter of thanks and appreciation from General Ali Mahmoud Abbas, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Minister of Defense, to his Belarusian counterpart, Viktor Khrenin, for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Belarusian military medical team to our people in the city of Aleppo who were affected by the devastating earthquake in February.

For his part, the Belarusian Deputy Minister of Defense indicated that the earthquake that struck Syria has saddened the leadership and people in Belarus, as the Belarusian leadership issued instructions immediately after the earthquake to provide urgent humanitarian assistance, and send the Belarusian military medical teams to help the Syrian people affected by the earthquake and the terrorist war, where the team managed to provide treatment and medical care to thousands of Syrian citizens.
