Syria has expressed its full solidarity with Iran and its wishes for safety to President Ebrahim Raisi and the Iranian officials who accompanied him on board the plane that disappeared this evening in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, due to bad weather conditions.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that Syria is following up with great interest and concern on the emergency landing incident of the plane of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the efforts being exerted by the Iranian agencies as well as the search and rescue teams with the aim of reaching the location of the helicopter.

“Syria confirms its confidence in the ability and wisdom of Iran, as a state, leadership and people, to overcome this difficult situation and expressed its readiness to provide every possible assistance”, the ministry added.
