Syria 1-0 Democratic Korea in Asian Qualifiers for World Cup 2026

The Syrian national football team opened its competitions in the double qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup by defeating the team of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea 1-0. The match that was held Thursday evening at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

 

The team’s only goal was scored by Omar Al-Soma in the 38th minute of the first half by a penalty kick.

 

The Syrian team will play the next match with its Japanese counterpart on November 21, within the second round of the qualifiers.
