Susan to Syrian Expatriates: Terrorist Aggression on Syria Aimed to Undermine the State, Dominate its Resources

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Susan on Wednesday received a delegation representing the Syrian communities in America and other countries.

During the meeting, Susan talked about the terrorist aggression launched on Syria by hegemony forces in cooperation with their tools in the region including Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the main supporters of terrorist takfiri groups. He said the aim of the aggression was to fragment and undermine the Syrian state and dominate its resources as done in some other countries like Iraq, Libya and Yemen.

Susan stressed that “the way to fight terrorism is clear, but the forces conspiring on Syria are not interested in this issue because they are the parties which provided all forms of political, military and financial support to terrorist organizations.”

He pointed out that the presence of American, French and German troops in Syria flagrantly violates Syria’s sovereignty and contradicts the simplest rules of international law.

Susan renewed the Syrian people and army’s determination to eliminate terrorism, to preserve Syria’s unity and independent decision and to prevent other countries’ attempts to interfere in the national Syrian options.

On their part, members of the guest delegation expressed their pride in the legendary steadfastness of the Syrian people and in the heroic deeds of the Syrian army. They stressed their readiness to do their best to enhance the steadfastness of the homeland.

Haidar stresses importance of national reconciliations in Syria

Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar said local reconciliations, together with the Syrian army’s achievements, are the Syrian people’s guarantee for a future without terrorism, according to SANA.

Haidar’s comments came during his meeting on Wednesday with a delegation of Syrian expatriates in the US, Canada, Kuwait, UAE and other countries.

Haidar said Western countries, especially the US, have contributed to the spread of terrorism by imposing economic sanctions on the Syrian people, pointing out that the terrorist threats facing Western states are an “inevitable outcome” of the policies of their governments and their lack of a clear strategic vision.

He criticized the West’s double standards in dealing with terrorism.

The delegation members, for their part, expressed readiness to clarify facts regarding the situation in Syria, voicing trust in the Syrian state’s firm principles in fighting terrorism, pushing ahead with reconciliations and launching the Syrian-Syrian dialogue.
