Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs holds conference in Cairo on women’s role in building awareness with Syria’s participation
Cairo, (ST) – The activities of the 35th international conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs opened yesterday under the title of “the role of women in building awareness” with the participation of more than one hundred concerned people concerned from more than sixty countries, including Syria.
Advisor to the Minister of Endowments and member of the Scientific Jurisprudence Council at the Ministry of Endowments, Dr. Ahmed Samer Al-Qabbani told SANA correspondent in Cairo that Syria and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif have always been pioneers in the moderate and pioneers in the field of empowering women to take their natural place in society in all fields.
He added that holding the conference lays the foundation for a new start in organizing women’s work and role in building civilized awareness.
Al-Qabbani clarified that the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) is the one that arranged the women’s teaching file and this stage was unprecedented of its kind as other countries began to follow suit.
