Students from Damascus University participating in the World Media Congress in the UAE: An opportunity to open up to others’ experiences

As a continuation of the initiative to support distinguished Arab youth in the field of media, a number of outstanding Syrian students at the Faculty of Media at Damascus University participated in the activities of the World Media Congress, which is hosted by the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.

Journalist, Dr. Amal Melhem, the sponsor of the initiative to support Arab youth, said: “Given the importance of the World Media Congress in shaping the future of media, and our constant endeavor to invest in media, we have chosen, in cooperation with Damascus University, a number of outstanding students to give them this important opportunity.” Melhem added: “It is our duty towards our country to invest in science and work to raise the level of media and raise it to confront Western media. .

Melhem indicated that this initiative is a continuation of the initiative that was launched last June through the “IM Media” company, with the aim of encouraging creativity among young media professionals, increasing their experience and introducing them to other media schools, and the latest technologies used in this field.

For his part, Abdullah Abdul Karim, Executive Director of the News Content Sector at the Emirates News Agency, WAM, said in a similar statement: The media is an essential gateway to creating positive partnerships between various media institutions at the country level in a civilized message that brings people together, and a gateway to creating and producing new ideas and projects.

Abdul Karim added that the Syrian students are honored and encouraged to attend the activities of the World Media Congress, which will add more to them in the media field.
