Students and their teachers protest against US-backed militia’s acts in Qameshli city

HASAKA, (ST)_Qameshli city witnessed this morning a protest stand against the presences of US and Turkish occupation forces in Syria and the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” militia’s practices in the region.
 
According to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), students ,their relatives and teachers gathered outside the Culture Center of Hasaka to protest against the SDF militia’s capture of schools and houses.
 
The protesters raised national Syrian flags and banners that call for the expulsion of US and Turkish occupation forces from Syrian al-Jazeera region, referring to the fact that the occupation forces plunder Syria’s oil and wheat and steal houses.
 
They affirmed that they stand by the Syrian army to eliminate terrorism and to expel occupation forces, which destabilize the region and steal its wealth.  
 
Fatmeh Khedr Mohammad, a teacher, said: “The presence of foreign forces without approval of the Syrian state is an occupation of our land. So resisting these forces is a duty and we have to be united to expel them.”
 
Mahmoud al-Hardan, a principal, said: “The city’s residents gathered today to reject the US and Turkish occupation and to condemn suppressive acts of the occupation forces against our students.”
 
On her part, Director of Education Directorate Ilham Sorkhan appealed to all international organizations and concerned parties to put an end to the US-backed “Syria Democratic Forces” militia’s violations and to reopen schools that have been closed by the militia.
 
“SDF militia’s act is a crime and threatens the future of thousands of children and youths,” she added, pointing out that the militia works on disseminating ignorance and keeping generation away from education for serving malicious agendas.
 
Last month, SDF militia seized most of Hasak’s schools limiting the ability of the remaining public schools to contain the increasing numbers of students and led to overcrowding in the classrooms.
