Struggle Should Focus on Resisting Zionist Occupation and Its Terrorist Tools: Shaaban

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, the Presidential Political and Media Advisor, has stressed that the sacrifices of the axis of resistance in Syria have foiled the West’s schemes against the country and it will specify the shape of the world in future.

Shaaban was speaking during a forum titled “al-Quds, the Pulse of Intifada” organized by the al-Quds International Foundation (Syria branch) at al-Assad Library in Damascus. The event was held within the framework of al-Quds Cultural Day and in commemoration of the al-Quds Intifada first anniversary.

She reiterated that struggle should focus on resisting the Zionist occupation and its terrorist tools.

Dr. Shaaban said that “it didn’t take late President Hafez Al-Assad 23 years to say that Oslo Accord was of no value and was a disaster to the Arab nation. He said it immediately after the accord was reached. It also hasn’t taken President Bashar Al-Assad five or ten years to say that the ongoing terrorist war against Syria will specify the future of Arabism and the entire world.”

Shaaban referred to UNESCO’s resolution that denies any historical, religious or cultural connection between the Jews and occupied al-Quds and Al-Aqsa mosque.

On his part Director General of Al-Quds International Foundation (Syria branch) Safir Ahmad al-Jarad said that holding al-Quds Cultural Day in Damascus, the capital of Arabism,  stresses the Palestinian people’s right to defend their causes and holy shrines, affirming that “holy jihad should only be against the Israeli occupation.”

“Al-Quds Intifada has terrified the Zionist entity and expressed the Palestinian youths’ rejection of the arrogance of the Zionist occupiers,” al-Jarad said, pointing out that the Intifada with all its cultural, military and economic types will continue.
