Strategic Coordination between Syria, Russia, Iran and Iraq Very Important in Counterterrorism – Iranian minister

TEHRAN, (ST)- The Iranian Interior Minister Abdul Reza Rahmani Fazli has stressed that combating terrorism necessitates the adoption of tangible measures by certain countries to stop their support for the terrorist organizations and to halt the flow of terrorists into Syria.

Fazeli made the remarks during his meeting on Monday with the Syrian Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mamoud.

 

“The growing danger of terrorism on the region and the entire world necessitates western countries to correct the mistakes they committed by providing a cover to terrorism and its supporters in Syria. It also necessitates these countries to coordinate with the Syrian state and the Syrian Arab Army who are achieving great successes in the battle against terrorism with support from Russia, Iran and the resistance front,” Fazli said.

He reiterated the importance of enhancing strategic coordination between Iran, Russia, Syria and Iraq in the fight against takfiri terrorist organizations and in attaining security and stability in the region and the world.

“The danger of terrorism is the main challenge threatening the future of the region,” Fazli stressed.

He renewed Iran’s support for the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism and for the Syrian government’s efforts to restore security and stability in the country. He affirmed that Iran supports political solution in Syria based on Syrian-Syrian dialogue that guarantees Syria’s unity and independence.

On is part, the Syrian Ambassador said that the main danger facing the region and the world is represented in the direct connection between the terrorist takfiri organizations and some countries in the region like Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

“The track adopted by Syria, Russia and Iran in the fight against terrorism is the most effective and successful track,” Mahmoud added.
