Sticky chicken wings and drumsticks

Ingredients

• 8 chicken drumsticks

• 8 chicken wings

• Wedges of lime to serve

FOR THE MARINADE

• 3 tbsp runny honey

• 2 tsp Chinese five spice

• 1 tbsp soy sauce

• 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed

• 5 cm piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated

• 3 tbsp orange marmalade

• 1 tsp grated orange zest

• 1 tbsp sesame oil

Preparation

– Slash the chicken drumsticks three or four times each with a knife and place in a bowl with the chicken wings.

– Mix all the marinade ingredients together, pour over the chicken and leave for at least 2 hours, turning occasionally. You can thread the chicken onto skewers if you wish, although this isn’t essential.

– Place the chicken on the barbecue over medium-hot coals and cook for 20 minutes, brushing with any marinade left in the dish (if the juices run pink when pierced, carry on cooking). Squeeze over lime and serve.
