Statement of head of the Committee in charge of completing the agreement with SDF

Head of the committee tasked with complementing responsible the agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF , Mr. Hussein Al-Salama said that a session was held on Saturday between the committee and the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mr. Mazloum Abdi, in the city of Hasakah, eastern Syria.

Mr. Hussein Al-Salama added ” The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, where both sides listened to each other’s perspectives.”

Both parties reaffirmed their full commitment to the terms of the agreement previously signed between the President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed al-Sharaa, and the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mr. Mazloum Abdi.

Mr.Al-Salama said ” Both sides emphasized the importance of Syria’s territorial unity and integrity, as well as the necessity of cooperating in implementing the stages of the agreement in a way that serves the interests of the Syrian people and preserves the stability of the concerned areas.”

In the same context, Al-Salama went on to say, the Syrian Ministry of Defense conducted a field visit to the Tishrin Dam area, in coordination with the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The visit is part of a plan aimed at consolidating the ceasefire in the area and creating appropriate conditions for the return of government institutions to practice their service and security roles.

Al-Salama clarified that the second phase of the agreement was also implemented in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. Public Security forces entered the two neighborhoods, opened roads, and removed earth barriers, marking an important step toward restoring normal life to the area”.

He pointed out that the committee is expected to hold a meeting with the central committee announced by the Syrian Democratic Forces within the coming days to follow up on the implementation of the remaining provisions and to discuss the next steps to be taken within the framework of the agreement.
