State of panic struck Israeli officials after ICC announced intention to open investigation into Israeli crimes in occupied territories
DAMASCUS, (ST)- A state of confusion and panic struck the officials of the Israeli occupation entity after the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced the end of the preliminary study to open an investigation into the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Israeli TV Channel 12 said in a report on Saturday that the ICC’s decision to launch a comprehensive investigation paves the way for the international prosecution of high-ranking Israeli political officials and military officers.
The channel pointed out that among the Israeli officials who are facing the risk of issuing international arrest warrants against them is the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as some former ministers, chiefs of staff and heads of Israel Security Agency Shabak.
The channel quoted diplomatic sources as saying that some Israeli private companies may participate in some procedures to defend those prosecuted officials in a sign that the occupation government won’t cooperate with the ICC investigators in any formal way.
