Starting on the 30th of July, complete closure in Lebanon due to the outbreak of corona

The Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Mohamed Fahmy, announced today a complete closure in the country, starting from the 30th of July, against the backdrop of the Corona pandemic, pointing out that all religious activities will be suspended as well.

The country will be closed from July 30 to August 3 implicitly, and from 6 to 10 August, the Lebanese National Information Agency quoted Fahmy as saying, the country’s institutions, private companies and banking sectors will be completely closed. Thehealth, security, military, industrial, agricultural and media establishments in addition to sea, land and air ports, municipalities and public utilities will be excluded from this decision according to a determined rotating schedule.

 

Fahmy pointed out that restaurants will open with 50 percent capacity and the transportation will operate in the same proportion, while all cinemas, theaters, bars, nightclubs, conference rooms, lounges, popular markets, children’s clubs and public parks will be closed.

Fahmy stated that at the border points, starting from the 31st of July, expatriates will have to show the negative results of Corona testing.

The Lebanese Minister of Health, Hamad Hassan, announced earlier today that the Scientific Medical Committee for Combating Epidemics recommended closing the country for a period of two weeks due to the spread of Corona virus, while keeping work at the airport and receiving flights, stating that the aim of these measures is to stem the wide outbreak of Coronavirus.

Corona cases in Lebanon totaled more than 3579 and 47 deaths.
