Start of Press conference for the foreign ministers of Syria, Turkey, and Jordan

A press conference has begun for the foreign ministers of Syria, Turkey, and Jordan following the trilateral meeting in Ankara.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said: We discussed the situation in Syria and the efforts of the Syrian government to promote stability.
Fidan added: We also touched on the situation in the region.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said: Our position is unified with our Turkish friends in supporting our brothers in Syria in facing the challenges and difficulties they face.

Al-Safadi: The stability of Syria is a fundamental pillar for the stability of the region, and we will provide all possible assistance to Syria to achieve progress in all areas.

Al-Safadi: There are challenges in Syria, but there are also great opportunities that can be leveraged, which can positively impact the brotherly Syrian people.

Al-Safadi: We reject Israeli aggressions against Syrian territory, and it is unacceptable for them to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs.

Safadi: We are coordinating with our brothers in Syria, Turkey, and the international community to halt Israeli attacks and implement international resolutions requiring Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad al-Sheibani: I congratulate Turkey on the agreement with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which will enhance stability in Turkey and the region as a whole.

Al-Shaibani: We are working to intensify cooperation with Turkey and Jordan to confront cross-border threats, and we will not allow foreign-backed militias to destabilize our country.

Al-Shaibani: Israel continues its attacks on our lands, escalating the situation, resulting in casualties. We demand that it abide by international resolutions and withdraw from the territories it occupies in the south.

Al-Shaibani: The unity of Syrian territory is non-negotiable, and the rights of all Syrian citizens are guaranteed and protected.

Al-Shaibani: We call on all Syrians to actively contribute to building the future, as rebuilding Syria requires concerted efforts.

Al-Shaibani: We announce practical steps to open an embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Ankara and a consulate in Gaziantep.

Al-Shaibani: Sanctions on Syria were imposed on the former regime, and they must be lifted because they hinder economic recovery and reconstruction.

Al-Shaibani: Syria is emerging from the darkest chapters of its history, extending its hand to regional cooperation, rejecting partition and interference in its affairs, and it aspires to build a future based on respect for sovereignty.

Al-Shaibani: The agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces comes as part of the Syrian government’s approach to solving all problems through dialogue in a way that serves the national interest. We are keen on this and hope that the other party will adhere to it.

Al-Shaibani: We look forward to the support of the international community and neighboring countries, urging them to stand by us to pressure Israel to stop its ongoing aggressions against our lands.

Al-Safadi: Israel continues its repeated aggressions, destabilizing Syria without any justification, and is pushing for continued tension in the region.

Al-Safadi: Syria now has a historic opportunity to be a safe and stable place where Syrians can live securely after years of suffering, and this requires the entire world to stand with it against what threatens it
