The recently organized workshop on the Syrian National Media Means has made of the English proverb that speech is silver controversial! The three-day workshop, organized by Ministry of Information, has witnessed scores of interventions by some of the most outspoken resistance and justice advocates from Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Iran and Syria.
The first day of the workshop was distinguished by Minister of Information, Omran al-Zoubi’s discourse. Transparently, Minister al-Zoubi stated the aim behind organizing the workshop as to call spade a spade and as to further enhance the role and mechanisms of the Syrian media in defending Syria against the ongoing media blitz of lies, fabrications and misinformation regarding the ongoing Syria. The minister masterfully outlined the way out from the crisis through ballot boxes away from hegemony and submission; hence Syria has no master, but friends and allies, and no power whatsoever can undermine the Syrian State.
The second day was also a distinguished day through the papers presented and interventions made. There was almost a consensus that the Syrian media means, though of the simple tools and resources, was able to disseminate and picture the reality of events in Syria. Syria has been waging a war against terrorists of more than 80 countries, supported and backed by tens of ewes, petrodollars, westerns, and not to mention the tens of media outlets of fabrications and lies. Unfortunately, some of the speakers spoke merely to show off, looking just at the half-empty part of the glass, and from their own egoistic perspective.
The workshop conclusion has been indeed a remarkable success, where tens of recommendations were adopted as to bolster and enhance the role of all Syrian media means. The fond memory of our hero colleagues, the martyrs of truth, and hero Army soldiers, the martyrs of the legitimate self-defence, has prevailed and revisited all of the participants. The blood of our martyrs is indeed the ink of our media means.
By all accounts, the mere organization of this workshop in this very time is a success. The Syrian media is around the clock moving forward and getting enhanced and bolstered. It is the media of resistance, transparency, and objectivity.
