Speaker of the Arab Parliament welcomes the resumption of Syria’s participation in the Arab League meetings

On May 10th, Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hamouda Sabbagh, received a phone call from Adel Abdel Rahman Al-Assoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, in which he affirmed that the Arab Parliament is standing by Syria.

Al-Assoumi expressed the Arab Parliament’s support and solidarity with the official Arab position, and welcomed the decision to resume the participation of delegations of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the League Council, and all its affiliated organizations and agencies.

In a statement published on its website, the Arab Parliament welcomed the decision of the Arab foreign ministers to resume Syria’s participation in the meetings of the Council of the League of Arab States.

The Arab Parliament stated that the decision comes in line with the common Arab interest and fraternal relations that unite all Arab peoples, and it will contribute to preserving and strengthening the territorial integrity of Syria.
