Speaker of Algerian People’s National Assembly renews Algeria’s keenness on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity
Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly Brahim Boughali praised the level of the distinguished historical relations between Algeria and Syria and stressed the need to make more efforts to boost them.
During his meeting yesterday with the Syrian ambassador to Algeria Maher Baddour, Boughali called for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially at the parliamentary and economic levels. He also renewed Algeria’s keenness on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two sides also discussed a number of current issues, especially the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and ways to confront terrorism.
In turn, Ambassador Baddour praised the level of bilateral relations and the fraternal ties that bring together the two brotherly peoples. He also praised Algeria’s positions under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in terms of supporting Syria’s stability and territorial integrity, stressing that Algeria is known for the solidity of its positions.
Baddour praised the role played by Algeria through its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council in favor of all just causes, and expressed his confidence that Algeria is on the verge of a prosperous stage in the coming period.
