Spain Urges Stop to Terrorism Funding and to Flow of Terrorists into Syria

NEW YORK, (ST)- Spain’s Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo has urged a stop to terrorism funding and the influx of terrorists into Syria, reiterating the need to hurry in separating the terrorists from the so-called “moderate opposition” in the country.

“It is necessary to halt all procedures that are facilitating the movement of terrorists and their flow into Syria. It is also important to separate between “moderate opposition” groups and the terrorist organizations like ISIS and other terror groups which haven’t specified their stance,” said Margallo.

The United States keeps evading the implementation of its pledges regarding the dissociation of the US-backed groups, which it called “moderate opposition”, from the terrorist organizations in Syria, despite Washington’s affirmation to Russia several months ago that it will implement its pledge within only two weeks.

Margallo asserted that political dialogue is the only way out of the crisis in Syria not the military option,  reiterating the need to preserve the Syrian state’s institutions and avoid their dismantling the way it happened in Libya and Iraq.

On his part, The French Foreign Minister Jean Marc Ayrault said it was necessary to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria, noting that the terrorist organizations are the only party which benefit from the current situation.

France was among the first countries to support and fund terrorism in Syria and the region. It has worked along with other western states to provide political cover to terrorism over the past years and until this terrorism began to hit back in Europe.

Ayrault urged enhancing the American-Russian agreement by pressing ahead with the cessation of hostilities  and called on the so-called  “moderate opposition” groups to abandon al-Qaeda and Jabhat al-Nusra, ignoring the fact that there is no difference between the crimes of this “opposition”” from those of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations; rather, there is an alliance among all these terror groups to launch attacks against the Syrians all over the country.
