SP 6 billion for Chronic Diseases Annually- Health Minister

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Health  Minister Dr. Saad al-Nayef   said the ministry pays  6 billion Syrian pounds  SP annually for ensuring free medicines for patients with chronic  and common and diseases including diabetes.

During  a tour on Damascus pre-marriage medical examination clinic , the Minister  stressed the  importance of pre-marital check-ups to ensure having a healthy family  for the newly wed.

He noted Ministry ‘s cooperation with  the Syrian Medical Association in launching  pre-marriage  medical examination clinics  in all provinces to provide blood tests and health advice at nominal prices not exceeding 2500 SP for the couple, through  the cost exceeds SP  9 thousands  .

 

In 20-12,  Damascus Pre-marriage  medical examination clinic  received 54 thousand visitors,  2718  persons found infected and were given necessary free medical treatment.
