Dr. Ayman Soussan, Head of the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation to the 17th International meeting on Syria in Astana format, has stressed that the Turkish and US occupation of some Syrian territories are behind prolonging the crisis in Syria.
In a press conference in the Kazakh Capital Nur-Sultan on Wednesday, Soussan said that the United States has committed crimes against humanity and has exacerbated the Syrians’ suffering by looting the Syrian people’s resources, including the oil and the wheat, and supporting the separatist militia called the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
He added that during the international meeting on Syria, the Syrian delegation explained the disastrous impacts of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people.
Soussan also reiterated that the repeated attacks by the Israeli occupation on Syrian territories won’t succeed in bringing life back to the terrorist groups and they won’t weaken Syria’s determination to strongly hit the terrorist tools of this occupation until they are completely eliminated.
Soussan also highlighted recent developments in Syria, mainly the settlement process in Daraa and Deir Ezzor which will contribute to enhancing stability in the country. He said that this settlement process is a normal result of the achievements realized in the fight against terrorism countrywide.
He also shed light on the efforts being exerted by the state institutions at the humanitarian level with the aim of providing assistance to those who need all over the country without discrimination.
He stressed Syria’s rejection of the so-called cross border aid, particularly because the western countries didn’t implement the provisions of the Security Council Resolution No. 2585 on early recovery projects despite Syria’s cooperation with all the international organizations working in the humanitarian field.
