Sousan Meets Syrian Expatriates in Armenia, Urges Them to Take Part in Syria’s Reconstruction Process

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Sousan on Sunday received a delegation comprising Syrian expatriates in Armenian as well as some Armenian businessmen.

Sousan explained developments in Syria and the steadfastness and heroism of the Syrian peple and army in the confrontation of terrorism. He stressed the Syrians’ determination to eliminate terrorism and restore security and stability countrywide, reiterating that Syria’s future is an exclusive right to the Syrian people and that Terrorism supporters and tools won’t achieve in policy what they couldn’t achieve in the battlefield.

 The deputy minister highly appreciated the national stances of the Syrian expatriates, urging to contribute to the process of reconstructing what terrorism has destroyed.

 On their part, the Syrian expatriates expressed their pride in Syria’s achievements in the fight against terrorism, stressing their determination to dedicate their energy and possibilities to serve enhancing the country’s steadfastness and ability to achieve final victory and starting reconstruction.

The Armenian businessmen, on their side, expressed their readiness to support the Syrian government’s reconstruction efforts starting from the deep historical ties between the Syrian and Armenian peoples.

In a statement to SANA, head of the Syrian community in Armenian George Barsilian said that the delegation’s visit to Syria aims at stressing the Syrian expatriates’ support for the leadership and people of their motherland Syria.

“We are part and parcel of the Syrian fabric and we will provide all support to contribute to reconstructing Syria and making Syria more beautiful than before,” Barsilian pointed out.

He went on to say that the delegation comprises a number of businessmen who are willing to carry out investments in Syria, including in the domains of energy and electricity as well as building, and to take part in the reconstruction.

He made it clear that a large number of Syrians are in Armenia because of the terrorist groups’ crimes.
