Some westerners want region in crisis

TEHRAN– Iran’s Secretary of SNSC told the President of French National Assembly that some westerners are after keeping the region in trouble.

“Any words of changing the political map of the region heighten the tensions,” said Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani in his Tuesday meeting with visiting President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone in Tehran, according to Mehr News Agency.

The French parliamentarian who arrived in Tehran late on Monday was received by Rear Admiral shamkhani on Tuesday evening after his earlier meetings with President Rouhani, FM Zarif and Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Larijani.

Referring to the prime importance of visiting political and parliamentarian delegations in reciprocal understanding and bilateral cooperation between countries, Shamkhani underlined that realization of cooperation in fields of economy, trade, and politics enhances Iran-France relations.

“Good opportunities of cooperation are not forever,” stressed the Iranian official, “and states should not give in their national interests, whether economic, trade-related, or about job creation for their citizens, for the pressure imposed by a third party country.”

He described it absurd to continue to talk about sanctions after signing of the JCPOA and termination of all anti-Iran resolutions. He said it is impossible to limit the interests and economic relations of other countries with unilateral regulations.

“Expansion and continuation  of Syrian crisis does not benefit the region and the Europe,” highlighted Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran, “France as a country which has felt the harm of terrorism should take more serious actions to block helps of arms, intelligence, and finance to the terrorists.”

He also criticized the Europeans for unwelcoming treatment of war refuges and dislocated people of Syria, which in Shamkhani’s opinion demonstrated irresponsibility toward crisis-hit human beings, far from human rights criteria and humanity.

“Syrian people besieged by the ISIL and Al-Qaeda are in the dire need of emergency helps and at the same time the European countries impose more sanctions on the Syrian government which is a blatant contradiction of humane approaches,” regretted the Iranian senior official.

Claude Bartolone for his part welcomed the expansion of ties between Iran and France and described the situation after the JCPOA the best for bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, and banking. He said that France is willing to take the full advantage of the current situation.

“About commitments considered by the JCPOA,” said the French parliamentarian, “they are legally binding for the westerners and should be observed immediately without the waste of time.”

Saying that many countries are abusing human rights instrumentally to put pressure on and limit the Islamic Republic of Iran, Bartolone asserted that many problems in this area can be solved by thorough dialogue and explanation.

He reiterated that France, determined to fight against terrorism, is seriously monitoring all the recruitment and supply routes for the ISIL and will harshly counter the phenomenon.
