Some European Countries Want EU to Stay as a Subordinate to US Administration – Foreign Ministry Source

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has condemned the stances provided in the statement of the European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers meeting, stressing that these stances have showed that some European countries want the EU to stay as subordinate to the American Administration and as a slave to these countries’ cheap material interests with takfiri petrodollar regimes, an official source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Tuesday.

“This behavior makes the European Union unqualified to play a positive role in finding a solution to the ongoing crisis in Syria,” the source added.

Developments in Syria have proved that the policy of the American Administration and its affiliates constitutes the main source of support for takfiri terrorism either by creating terrorist organizations and providing them with all forms of support to help achieve the US domination schemes in the region or by not being serious and effective in fighting terrorism, according to the source. It pointed out that the ineffectiveness of the US-led coalition’s airstrikes allegedly against ISIL has enabled the terrorist organizations to pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and stability.

The source clarified that the American and European policies aim to disrupt the Russian military air operations carried out in cooperation with the Syrian army in Syria and which have within days proved their effectiveness in fighting ISIL, al-Nousra Front and other al-Qaida affiliated terrorist organizations.

“The Russian airstrikes have proved the credibility and the determination of the Russian and Syrian leaderships to fight terrorism in accordance with international law and based on respecting countries’ sovereignty, the source asserted.

According to the source,  the Syrian people and army, which are fighting takfiri terrorism, have stronger determination more than ever to cling to their national options, independent decision and brave legitimate leadership.

The Syrians reject any aggression against their right to determine the future of their country and refuse any European interference in Syria’s internal affairs, the source affirmed.
