DAMASCUS, (ST)- A convoy of 30 vehicles carrying about 400 Kurdish militants left Manbej in Aleppo northeastern countryside to the eastern bank of the Euphrates in implementation of an agreement reached with the Syrian government to withdraw from the area and help restore normal life in Syria’s northern part.
The Syrian Defence Ministry said in a statement published on its website that “in implementaton of an agreement to restore normal life to the areas in the northern part of the Syrian Arab Republic starting from January 2019, a convoy of Kurdish militia units comprising 400 fighters left Manbij for the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in the village of Qara Quzaq 25 km to the northeast of Manbej.
The Defence Ministry released a video showing the Kurdish forces’ withdrawal on its Facebook page.
