Some 355 Misled Gunmen from Quneitra Return to Homeland’s Bosom

QUNEITRA,(ST)_The competent authorities have regularized situations of 115 misled gunmen from several towns in Quneitra countryside, the official news agency (SANA) said on Wednesday.

The agency confirmed that soldiers and members from the internal security forces were among the misled gunmen whose situations were regularized under the national reconciliation process.

The gunmen handed in their weapons and vowed not to carry out any act that jeopardizes the security of the country and civilians.

“Since the beginning of this year, the situations of more than 355 gunmen have been regularized under the efforts exerted by Quneitra governorate and the popular reconciliation committees in Syria,” Ma’an Salaheddin, Quneitra governor told the official agency’s reporter.

The governor asserted that the ongoing meetings with civilians aim to bring back each misled civilian to the homeland’s bosom.

For his part, Head of the Popular Reconciliation Committee in Quneitra, Ma’amoun Jaredeh said that the popular reconciliation committees play a pivotal role in reactivating national reconciliation nationwide and releasing many kidnapped people as well as putting an end to acts of violence, kidnapping and looting being practiced by armed terrorist groups in the country.

The 115 misled gunmen were from the towns of Jabbata al-Khashab, Tranjah, Mashara, Khan Arnabeh, Al-Baath city and Nab’a al-Sakher in Quneitra countryside
