Some 34 Shells Hit Jaramana City and Several Urban Areas in Damascus and Homs

PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorists have targeted six urban areas in the provinces of Damascus, countryside and Homs by more than 34 mortar shells, killing two civilians and wounding 42 others, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted a police command source as saying that three shells landed on houses at the periphery of the French Hospital in al-Qassa’a area in Damascus where at least a citizen was martyred and three others wounded.

The source added that four more shells hit quarter of Rekn Abo Atef and schools complex in al-Dwel’a area causing the death of a child and leaving three other civilians wounded.

Several cars, houses and two schools were damaged by the mortar attack.

Another mortar attack hit al-Tabbaleh, al-Kashkol and Mazzeh 86 quarters in the province of Damascus when five shells struck the said quarters, wounding nine civilians.

Some 22 civilians wounded in Jaramana city

While in Damascus countryside, about 20 shells hit several areas in Jaramana city, leaving almost 22 civilians wounded.

A source at a police command declared that the terrorist attack on the city caused serious damages to many houses, cars, schools and the surgical hospital too.

Last Tuesday, some nine shells struck the same city, killing at least a civilian and wounding 18 others, including 9 children.

In central Homs province, almost 9 civilians were wounded when a shell landed on a house in al-Hamra quarter.

Terrorists perpetrate massacre in Homs

Yesterday, a terrorist group perpetrated a massacre against innocent locals of Karm al-Zayton quarter in Homs city where at least 14 persons, including women and children, were martyred.

The massacre was preceded by twin car bomb attacks in al-Khedr Street in Karmelloz quarter. Almost 25 civilians were martyred and more than 107 others wounded by the terrorist attacks.
