Some 33 Exhibitions on The Fairs’ Foundation Agenda

DAMASCUS -, Director-General of the General Foundation for International Exhibitions and Markets, Ghassan Al-Fakiani, announced that the number of exhibitions registered on the Foundation’s schedule for the current year has reached 33, while the final approvals were granted to 32 exhibitions due to be held for the next year 2020.

“This year’s plan is diverse and includes many specialized exhibitions, including food, agriculture and textiles, as well as dozens of other titles covering all aspects of the economy in Syria,” Al-Fakiani told SANA.

According to Al-Fakiani, 23 exhibitions were held during 2018, while in 2017 25 specialized exhibitions were held. In 2016 25 exhibitions were held in Damascus and the rest of the governorates.

Concerning the preparations of Foundation’s for the 61stsession of the Damascus International Fair, Mr. Al-Fakiani clarified that the Foundation, at the beginning of last February, accepted applications for participation in the exhibition of both private and public sector.

Al-Fakiani pointed out that “the revenue indicators of the lottery sector exceed last year by at least 1.3 billion Syrian pounds,” adding that these data reflect the beginning of the sector’s entry into the recovery phase as well as the rest of the sectors in Syria.
