Some 160 Companies Take Part in the 4th Khan Al Harir Exhibition

Damascus, (ST)- With the participation of more than 160 companies specialized in clothing, fabrics, and production and shoes accessories, the 4th exhibition of Khan Al-Harir specialized in fashion and textiles kicked off at the exhibition city on Friday.

The four-day exhibition was organized by the Aleppo Chamber of Industry in cooperation with the Ministries of Industry, Economy and Foreign Trade and the Local Production Development and Export Support Authority.

 During his visit to the exhibition, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Mohammad Samer Al-Khalil, said that the participation of this number of industrialists is the biggest evidence of the recovery of the Syrian industry and the ability of Aleppo city to meet the challenges and difficulties that encounter national economy.

“We have a large number of industrialists involved in the field of various clothing industries, including baby clothes,” he said.

He pointed out that the government is exerting great efforts and supporting the industrialists  and producers to accelerate the pace of recovery in the next phase due to its positive impact on industrialists, national economy and consumers.

The Minister of Industry, Mohammed Mazen Yousef, said that the brightness of the Syrian industrial sector could be seen in such demonstrations. He pointed out that the Ministry of Industry is working on networking with the Ministry of Economy and communicating with the industrialists and traders to overcome all difficulties and obstacles to re-start significantly in local industry in preparation for foreign markets.

He pointed out that a plan has been put in place to re-launch Aleppo factories again and in a very short time, especially the spinning and weaving industry on which all national industries depend.

For his part, Head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry and Chairman of the Chamber of Industry of Aleppo, Eng. Fares Shihabi said that this exhibition “is the fourth version of Khan Al -Harir, which we will move with it directly from Damascus to Baghdad, and the exhibition is the largest in Syria in terms of specialization in the field of textile industries and its accessories with the participation of the various governorates and a number of Syrian industrialists residing in Egypt. “

He added that some 160 industrialists will participate in the next Khan Al-Hariri exhibition in Baghdad to open Iraqi markets to many Syrian companies and conduct export contracts, calling for encouraging economic measures to support the textile industry and for encouraging the return of industrialists by protecting the industry and controlling smuggling and preventing the import of everything that can be produced in factories, he added.

For his part, the Chairman of the Committee of the Arqoub industrial zone in Aleppo, Mohamed Sabbagh said that this exhibition, which is involved in textile industries and clothing, including kids, men and women wears, reflects the legacy of this industry while maintaining quality, which, in addition to creative designs, increases the industry’s competitiveness locally and externally.
