Some 120 Syrian Companies in Beirut

DAMASCUS,(ST) – With the participation of 120 Syrian companies specializing in the garment industry, activities of the specialized exhibitionin in the world of fashion and accessories “Syriamod Spring Summer 2015” begins today at the International Exhibition Center in Beirutby. The event is organized by the Association of Syrian Exporters of Clothing and Textiles in cooperation with the Damascus Chamber of Industry, the Syrian Federation of Exporters, the Agency of Development and Promotion of Exports.

Secretary of Damascus Chamber of Industry Firas al -Jajeh said in a press statement that the exhibition is the second of clothing that the Chamber participates in. This exhibition is a continuation of the previous sessions held during the past two years which has achieved good success and attracted customers from several Arab countries and many contracts were signed and contributed to promote Syrian textile products.

He said that the exhibition will be held at an area of 3,500 meters and it is expected to be visited by about 1,500 customers from several countries, pointing out that the participants taking part in this show will be supported by 50% of the cost.

 Mr. al -Jajeh said that this show came after few days of organizing the first exhibition of Syrian Clothing in Baghdad, which was a successful step in opening the Iraqi market again after the beginning of the strong return to Syrian product in Iraq and the return of confidence in the Syrian industry and opening the door for the return of Iraqi traders to visit Syria after the good impression that they had received from the participants in the exhibition.

“The show will be followed by several various shows of the Syrian industries in Baghdad, including other shows for clothing at the request of the participants and the desire of the Iraqi side to strengthen cooperation and increase trade between the two countries, noting the significant efforts of the Syrian Embassy in Baghdad and the facilities provided to the participants,” he pointed out.
