The Syrian community, Arab and Australian people, and members of the “Hands off Syria” group organized a stand in front of the office of the Australian Prime Minister demanding the lifting of the unjust siege on Syria.The stand was also in solidarity with those affected by the earthquake there.
The participants in the stand raised banners expressing feelings of pain and anger at the continuation of the unjust siege on Syria, stressing standing with Syria and the right of the Syrian people to live decently and practice their normal lives after these successive crises and disasters. They chanted slogans calling for lifting the embargo and unjust siege on Syria.
The participants delivered a letter of protest to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over the continuation of the economic blockade imposed on Syria, which impedes relief operations for those afflicted by the earthquake.
