On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the “Hifz Al-Nima” (preservation of the grace) Charity, as part of the “Tashark Al-Khair” (Share doing good) campaign, launched by the ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, organized a campaign to help the families in need in Damascus and its countryside to reduce their economic burdens.
The campaign focuses on disturbing food baskets to the needy families and preparing Eid Al-Fitr clothes and gifts. It also focuses on disturbing Iftar and Suhoor meals in the Charity’s kitchen (Kafafy) project by a number of women who received various courses in the field of cooking, according to the Chairperson of the Board of the Hifz Al-Nima Charity Abeer Al-Olabi.
In a statement to SANA, Al-Olabi indicated that the Association’s programs mainly aimed to provide material and moral support to the needy families, including the relief program which provides food, clothes and medicine. She pointed out that since the beginning of the month of Ramadan, 2,344 Iftar meals were presented to fasting people and 1,105 food baskets have been distributed to families in need, in addition to securing medicine and providing medical services to 1,213 patients.
Al-Olabi pointed out that the Charity participated in the “Feikum Al Khair” initiative, which aims to support development work and give a developmental character to charitable work in the holy month to encourage small and micro-sized entreprises. She pointed out that the association has presented 40 development projects that are currently being studied in order to launch them in the next stage.
A number of volunteers stressed the importance of voluntary humanitarian charitable work in embodying a realistic picture of the work provided in the spirit of love, pointing out the necessity of contributing and providing everything possible to needy families to enhance the spirit of solidarity in society.
