Social initiative in Syria’s Daraa to Support Those Affected by the Earthquake

Daraa (ST) – Within the framework of a social initiative titled “Syria is One Family”, the people in Daraa governorate made cash donations to support the people affected by the earthquake. The value of the donations collected from 19 cities and towns in one day reached more than 720 million SYP.

Member of the Executive Bereau of Daraa Governorate Council Walid Al-Jaffal stated that the city of Sheikh Maskin has received five surviving families from the governorates that were exposed to the earthquake and hosted them in houses equipped with all the necessities. They also prepared 30 houses in Inkhil city to receive affected people.

He added that Daraa governorate is working in the team spirit to alleviate the suffering of the people affected by earthquake as much as possible. The financial and material aids are being received to be sent in an organized manner to the affected governorates.

The head of the Ghasam town council Hasna Abdullah said that a tent was set up in front of the town council’s building to receive the donations of its people, stressing that there is a great turnout of people seeking to support the affected fsmilies, not to mention that the children also donated their savings in an image that embodies the unified social fabric of Syria.
