Social Affairs Ministry Focuses on Development Aid, Says Qadri

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Rema Qadri has said the Ministry focuses on development aid, which depends on developing individual and its capabilities.

Her remark was made during her meeting Tuesday with Syrian expatriates from the United States.

“Syrian expatriates play key role in supporting Non-Governmental Organizations in field of social development in the country,” the minister said, underlining the importance of cooperation between individual and community at all levels, especially economic and social ones, in order to have a better community.

 She briefed the expatriates on the ministry’s work before and after the crisis, challenges that face its work, social services and the mechanism of defining priorities.

On their part, the expatriates highly appreciated the work of the ministry in preserving social unity and alleviating the effects of the crisis on citizens.
