Bratislava (ST): Slovak President Zuzana Caputova considered that NATO’s joining the current war in Ukraine by sending troops or creating a no-fly zone would mean entering a third world war.
In an interview with Marchesa TV channel, Caputova indicated that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not realistically possible now, pointing out that this issue is more complicated than joining the European Union.
Meanwhile, a recent opinion poll showed that 67 percent of Slovak citizens do not approve of the presence of US soldiers in their country, compared to 29 percent who support it.
The Slovak Defense Minister, Jaroslav Nad, announced last week that he would propose this week to his country’s government to approve the deployment of advanced NATO forces in Slovakia.
