Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Juraj Planar, affirmed that the sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia, which proved their failure, have harmed the Union’s citizens and economies, calling for their re-examination and evaluation.
In a comment published on his website today, Planar said: The current difficult period in international politics requires intensifying efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine. This solution is important for the stability of all of Europe, and is in the interest of European industries that greatly depend on Russian raw materials, especially energy sources.
He urged the Slovak government and the ruling coalition parties to retract their positions, which are similar to the US administration’s positions on Ukraine, and work for the European Union to act effectively to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine.
