Dhaka (ST) – Syria will participate next to teams from 65 universities from all over the world in the 45th finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka on the 10th of this November.

The Syrian teams represent the universities of Damascus, Aleppo, Al-Baath, Tishreen, the Syrian Virtual University, and the Higher Institute of Applied Science and Technology, which are among the qualified teams for the Arab regional competition.

The competition includes high-level programming problems and is a means to bring together selected undergraduate programmers, trainers, and academics working in the field of informatics worldwide in one place. The competition aims to encourage building new software and enable students to test their abilities and performance under pressure.

Each team (Three programmers plus an instructor) will work on a single computer for five hours to solve life problems  through IT.

The first place will be for the team that succeeds in solving many problems in the shortest time.

The competition’s title is “Brains Battle” and it is more than just an academic and technological competition, as it constitutes a ground for building a cooperative global information society.
