OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, (ST)_Six Palestinian detainees who are being held in Israeli jails without charge or trial are continuing their hunger strike demanding their freedom, according to WAFA News Agency.
The agency reported on Monday that Kayed Fasfous has been on a hunger strike for 68 days in a row, followed by Mikdad Qawasme, 61 days, Alaa Araj, 43 days, Hisham Abu Hawwash, 35 days, Rayiq Bisharat, 30 days, and Shadi Abu Aker, 27 days.
The Commission said that Fasfous, Qawasme and Araj are currently at the “Ramla” prison’s clinic following a deterioration in their health due to their long hunger strike and can only move on a wheelchair.
The Palestinian detainees resort to hunger striking to draw attention to their unjust arrest and to gain their freedom after long periods of detention without charge or trial and based on secret evidence presented by the Israeli security services available only to the military judge but not to anyone else, including the lawyers.
There are currently 520 Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli jails.
