Six new breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed in Lattakia and Damascus

Lattakia – The Russian center monitoring the agreement said that the cessation of hostilities agreement was breached six more times by terrorist groups in the past 24 hours in Lattakia and Damascus provinces, SANA reported.

The Center added in a statement published on the official website of the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday that five breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement were observed in Damascus and another in Lattakia.

The so-called “Jaish al-Islam” terrorist organization targeted with mortar shells the towns of Hawsh Nasri, Barzeh, Joubar, Douma and al-Qaboun in Damascus Countryside and terrorists from the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” shelled Shillef Citadel in Lattakia.

 

The Center added that Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS terrorist organizations fired mortar shells on three neighborhoods in Aleppo city and on al-Nairab Airport in Aleppo Countryside, in addition to targeting a number of towns in Damascus.

The Center pointed out that the number of towns that have joined the agreement of the cessation of hostilities in Syria reached 371, while the number of armed groups that have declared their adherence to the principles of the agreement remains 69.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
