Six new breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed

Lattakia – The number of breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria by the terrorist groups has reached 1186 since the agreement came into force on February 27th.

The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center monitoring the agreement said in a statement on Friday that over the past 24 hours, terrorists of the so-called “Jaish al-Islam” attacked with mortar shells and rocket launchers a number of towns in Damascus Countryside while terrorists of the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” shelled Kinsabba town in the northern countryside of Lattakia province, SANA reported.

 

The Center added that six new towns in Lattakia and Homs provinces joined the agreement as the total number of the towns which have joined the agreement reached 592.

On the other hand, terrorists of the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra attacked with mortar and rocket shells the neighborhood of al-Ansari, the project of 1070 apartments, the military academy and al-Castillo commercial center in Aleppo, in addition to shelling a number of towns in Damascus countryside and the villages of Ma’ardes and Kawkab in Hama.

The cessation of hostilities agreement doesn’t include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
