Situation of Syrian workers in Iraq highlighted

Baghdad (ST) – the Iraqi Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi and the Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah, expressed their keenness to deepen the relations between the brotherly peoples of Iraq and Syria.

Al-Asadi noted Iraq’s support for Syria in restoring its Arab and regional role and restoring security and stability to all its regions, pointing to the necessity of regulating the situation of Syrian workers in accordance with the laws and the Iraqi labor market.

For his part, Al-Dandah discussed the situation of the Syrian community in Iraq, and the necessity of solving the problems of those who violate residency conditions by giving them an opportunity to settle their situation on easy and special terms.

He noted that the community plays an important and major role in the fields of medicine, construction, expertise and management of many tourist and service facilities.

Al-Dandah pointed out that the meeting discussed the necessity of providing facilities to Syrians coming to work, and ensuring that they obtain approvals and entry visas.
