On October 8, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reiterated the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“We have firmly rejected attempts to use force and cut off part of Syrian territory. These deeds are a violation of international norms and laws,” Sisi said , during a press conference on the sidelines of a trilateral meeting between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece in Cairo.
The Egyptian President said that the tripartite meeting discussed the developments in Syria and stressed the support of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue to reach a political solution to the crisis and the efforts of Geir Pedersen, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Syria.
The tripartite meeting gathered Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotax.
