Sinister Alliance to abort Geneva Conference
The hypocrite stand of some countries towards the convening of the Geneva conference is crystal clear through their feverish efforts to hinder the convening of the event. They call for the political solution for the crisis in Syria and at the same time they continue to provide terrorists with sophisticated weapons and finance their criminal acts and savage atrocities against Syrian people and state. The fact that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and other countries continue to smuggle weapons and mercenary terrorists into Syria doesn’t go in line with these countries’ participation in a conference sponsoring dialogue among Syrians, therefore these countries must stop supporting terrorist groups fighting against Syrian people and state before talking about their participation in the conference. These states launched aggression against Syria through gathering takfiri mercenaries from more than 83 states and shipping them off to Syria, in addition to making fervent efforts to foil Geneva 2 by making preconditions. The Syrian crisis revealed the truth about the Saudi-Israeli and Qatari-Israeli alliances, in addition to uncovering the truth of the European hypocrisy and the frailty of the Arab political system when the Arab League was transformed into a Trojan horse used to undermine and weaken Arab states in service of foreign agendas that serve the enemies of the Arab nation. There are operations rooms in Jordan in which experts and military personnel from the Israeli Mossad, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the US and some European countries operate along with some leaders of armed groups. The Mossad signed an agreement with some terrorist groups in Syria in which these groups pledged to protect “Israel’s borders”. News reports also said that Bandar, chief of the Saudi intelligence, has taken part in a meeting in Israel to discuss possible improvement of relations between Iran and the West with Israeli premier and French president. According to Lebanese al-Hadath website, the meeting, which was held in Tel Aviv, attended by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, French President Francois Hollande and Saudi spy chief.
There is a lot of evidence that Israel is supporting terrorists in Syria, including the fact that Israeli weapons and equipment were found with terrorists, and that injured terrorists are treated in Israeli hospitals. The Israeli occupation army recently transferred two injured members of the armed terrorist groups in Syria to Nahariya Hospital in the occupied Palestinian territories. An Israeli daily said that the two injured terrorists are suffering mid-range wounds. Nahariya Hospital has received so far 161 terrorists, 20 of them are still receiving medical treatment according to the Israeli Ma’aref newspaper. Israel overlooks all that and supports the presence of terrorists in the region and at the same time complains to the security Council if a Syrian shepherd wanders into the disengagement zone in the occupied Golan.
Saudi Arabia is the largest supporter of takfiri terrorists in Syria and is directly responsible for the shedding of Syrian blood, motivated by American Israeli instructions and unreasonable hatred. The recently-unveiled Israeli-Saudi alliance is a natural extension of the harmful Saudi role in the region. Saudi Arabia has been provoking the crisis in Syria by supporting Takfiri terrorists fighting against the Syrian government and people. This is a proxy entity of the Western military alliance recruited by NATO and its allies including of course Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. The ongoing bloody unrest in Syria is a US-NATO-Israeli-sponsored terrorist operation. Syria is facing a “Western construct” militancy covertly supported and armed by Western intelligence. In recent weeks, the Syrian army has made fresh advances in its fight against foreign-backed terrorists.
The Princes of Al-Saud have been spending their money to sponsor the Takfiris’ deviant interpretation of Islam in Syria. Saudi Arabia is fraudulent in terms of it using its money to pervert justice, to distort Islam, to pervert social change. It seems like they should use that huge funds for the poor people in Saudi Arabia instead of destroying Syria and offering great service to the enemies of Syria and the Arab nation. Saudi Arabia has reportedly earmarked USD 300 million to finance more operations by the armed terrorist groups.
Those who propose preconditions don’t want Geneva 2 to be held; rather they want destruction in Syria to continue and they want its state to fall, despite the fact that the conference is an opportunity that all Syrians must seize to save their country. The Syrian government has shown seriousness from the very beginning of the crisis about the necessity of conducting dialogue among Syrians and led by Syria in order to build a better future without foreign interference or diktat. The Syrian government agreed to go to Geneva 2 without preconditions, restrictions or foreign interference, with Syrians holding talks and eventually resulting in a national unity government that should work to take the country out of the crisis and deal with its adverse consequences. The crisis nears its end in political and military terms after many facts that were either absent from some people’s mind or were purposefully concealed came to light. Over the two and a half years of the crisis, everyone came to realize that Syria’s diplomatic and political strength is built on very solid foundations, allowing it to face an unprecedented international campaign that employed politics and economy and misleading provocative media to undermine the Syrian state and its pivotal role in resisting the Zionist project in the region, which aims among other things, to perpetuate the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories and enable colonialist states to plunder the Arab resources and keep the Arab states weak and divided. There’s a deliberate Western plan to weaken the armies of Egypt, Syria and Iraq in order to prevent any Arab country from playing a prominent role in the region. The West succeeded to link Islamist movements to foreign agendas, and now the West is repositioning itself based on new considerations that serve its interests. Syria sent many letters to the UN on terrorism and the activities of Al Qaeda and its various offshoots in Syria, yet Syria did not receive a single response to these letters. The UN and its affiliated bodies abstained from making any official statement denouncing the atrocious massacres committed by the armed terrorist groups against Syrian people and state. The counter-terrorism subcommittees at the UN spent a long time to list Jabhat al-Nusra among terrorist groups. The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other terrorist groups which are committing criminal and sabotage acts against Syrian people and state should be also in the UN’s lists of terrorist organizations.
These terrorist organizations should be prevented from participation in Geneva conference, because they are involved in shedding Syrian blood and all spectrums of Syrian society should be united against terrorism. There is a need for ending the crimes of Al Qaeda against Syrians and restoring security and stability to the region.
There will be an actual Syrian opposition which understands the nature of the current stage and the challenges facing Syria and which treats Syria as their country instead of behaving like followers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the US, Britain or any other country which orders them to implement certain agenda in service of foreign colonialist projects that serve the Zionist project in the region or try to revive old colonialist dreams for Britain and France in the region.
Several European countries contacted the Syrian government and sent unpublicized delegations to Damascus to discuss issues related to people from these countries who are participating in terrorist operations in Syria. These countries are concerned over the possibility of these terrorists’ returning to their countries of origin. In a recent statement, the British foreign secretary William Hague warned against the return of terrorists fighting in Syria to their original European countries. He said that terrorism might spread to Syria’s neighbours and Europe. It is a very ironical statement when Hague warns against the spread of terrorism and at the same time he ignores his country’s unlimited support for terrorist groups with funds and communication devices that facilitated the crimes of the armed terrorist groups against Syrian people and state.
The majority of Syrian people believe in a Syrian-Syrian dialogue that drags Syria out of the vortex of bloodshed. Syria is achieving major victories against the aggression targeting it. The international conference on Syria ”Geneva II” and any political endeavours should serve the interests of Syria and the region. It should eliminate terrorism acts that target their country. It is very important to hold the international conference on Syria, Geneva 2, without preconditions. The sides that try to impose conditions for convening Geneva 2 are basically seeking to abort it. The sides that are waiting for a “military balance” on the ground or are waiting for some kind of support are actually trying to derail or completely annul the conference.
The Geneva communiqué of June 2012 is the only basis that gained the support of the UN Security Council as to hold the “Geneva II” conference. The essence of the Geneva communiqué is solving the crisis in Syria by the Syrians themselves within the framework of national dialogue. There are attempts to distort the meaning of the US-Russian initiative on holding Geneva 2 international conference on Syria. There are too many games around this initiative. There are attempts if not to derail the process completely, then to distort the meaning, to send it off onto the path that is too unrealistic and will prove to be a dead end.
Syria’s foreign-backed opposition has set preconditions for participating in the proposed Geneva 2 conference. The so-called Syrian National Coalition (SNC) outlined conditions that must be met before the Geneva talks. With no real influence on the ground, the SNC should not be used as an umbrella for the entire opposition in Syria, as there is no evidence to suggest that the coalition is the sole legitimate representative of either all Syrian people or even the opposition as a whole. Some members of Syria’s foreign-backed opposition have rejected talks with the government once again, claiming that the planned Geneva 2 peace conference a waste of time. They are trying to implement orders from certain regional and Western states to abort the holding of Geneva and perpetuate the suffering of the Syrian people while members of the so-called opposition are living in five-star luxurious hotels in France, Britain and other regional and Western states.
Setting a timeline for the long-awaited Geneva II Syria talks failed several times due to the obstacles created by Syria’s foreign-backed opposition at the orders by their masters in the US, France and Britain. Pre-conditions contradict the Russian-US initiative which envisions the convocation of a conference without any preconditions for full fulfilment of the tasks outlined in the Geneva Communiqué of June 30, 2012.
The Syrian opposition is divided and they are being manipulated and pushed in hundred directions by various Western and regional countries.
The plight of the Syrian nation and the deterioration of humanitarian situation in the country require from all spectrums of the Syrian society to meet in Geneva without condition and find a way out of the crisis and uproot terrorism from their homeland.
The international community now has to step in and curb the war in Syria by putting the pressure on the states funding terrorist groups and push all parties to approach the negotiating table without conditions.
Only the Syrian people can determine the fate of the country and decide on the outcome of the forthcoming Geneva II conference. The Syrian people are the only ones who have the right to decide on Syria’s future, and any solution or agreement must have the acceptance of the Syrian people, and reflect their desires and interests. Any imposed solutions prepared in dark rooms by some Western and regional states will be categorically rejected by Syrian people, because they will never accept anything that endangers their sovereignty and free will. Syria will always remain unbowed as the crisis unfolds and has managed to compel the whole world to reconsider course over Syria.
