The Syrian Taekwondo team won two silvers and a bronze medal in the Asian Federation President’s Cup Championship, which concluded its competitions in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The silver medal went to player Fatima Qasim, while the bronze medal was won by Ali Asad in the fifth edition of the AFC President’s Cup tournament, classified as G2.
More than 400 male and female players participated in the tournament, representing 40 countries, in the presence of a number of the most prominent male and female stars in the world of Taekwondo.
The President of the Taekwondo Federation, Sherif Derki, confirmed in a statement that the President’s Cup tournament is very important for the players, as it constitutes the penultimate stage of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and allows the players to achieve the remaining two rounds of the Grand Prix series and the World Championship.
