Signing a document of receiving ready-made rooms for earthquake victims provided by the People’s Republic of China

On May 31st, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, discussed with the Chinese Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei ways to enhance and develop cooperation in the new phase of early recovery and reconstruction in all fields, especially projects that contribute to the return of those affected by the earthquake to their homes.

During the meeting, a memorandum was signed related to receiving prefabricated and mobile rooms for those affected by the earthquake in the governorates of Lattakia and Aleppo, in the building of the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment.

Minister Makhlouf praised the role of China in standing by Syria in all international forums and the support it provides in all fields, especially in the humanitarian and relief field and in responding to the earthquake.

Minister Makhlouf said that China was one of the first countries to take the initiative to send humanitarian and relief aid to the affected areas.

In turn, Xi Hongwei stressed that his country will continue to provide humanitarian aid according to the needs of each stage, whether devices and equipment for inspecting buildings or food aid, in addition to the third batch of buses in the near future.
