Shtayyeh calls on ICRC to intervene for providing treatment to the wounded in Gaza Strip

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene urgently for treating more than 12,000 wounded people, as a result of the continuous Israeli occupation aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip for the twelfth day, and to work to deliver medicines, electricity and water to the area.

Wafa News Agency reported that Shtayyeh said during his meeting with representative and director of operations of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Palestine Jean-Philippe on Wednesday that the hospitals in Gaza Strip are suffering. due to the occupation’s siege, from a significant shortage of medical staff and equipment, and are unable to respond to the needs of this huge number of wounded.

Shtayyeh stressed the need that the international community should to act immediately to stop the occupation’s aggression. He warned that the humanitarian catastrophe is accelerating and worsening in Gaza Strip as the hospitals are about to run out of fuel.

Shtayyeh pointed to the continued efforts alonside international partners to ensure the delivery of medicines, electricity and water to Gaza.
