Shtayyeh calls for international protection for the Palestinian people

Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh renewed his call on the international community to provide protection to the Palestinian people and to stop the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation against them.

In a statement reported by Wafa Agency, Shtayyeh said that the crime committed by the occupation in the cities of Bethlehem and Jenin in the West Bank, which resulted in the death of three Palestinians and the wounding of dozens, as well as providing protection for settlers to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque, in clear violation of the sanctity of the mosque, is only a new chapter added to the war crimes chapters and the crimes against humanity committed by the occupation against the Palestinians.

Shtayyeh pointed out that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s call for settlers to take up arms and kill Palestinians entails a great danger that calls for urgent international intervention to protect the Palestinians.

In the same context, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the escalation of the Israeli occupation forces and settlers’ crimes against the Palestinians and their lands and holy sites, calling on the international community to intervene urgently to stop them.
