Shoukry: A key link between Egypt and Syria in preserving Arab national security

On October 2nd, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed the importance of the pivotal role of Syria and Egypt in preserving Arab national security.

Shoukry pointed to his country’s determination to play an active role in helping Syria get out of its  crisis and once again be restored to  its Arab position.

“ The aim of meeting is to explore how Egypt can contribute to Syria’s exit from the crisis and the restoration of Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and return to its Arab incubator,” Shoukry said in a telephone interview on MBC Egypt commenting on his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York September 24.

 

Shoukry said that the meeting confirms Egypt’s interest in the brotherly Syrian people and the historical relations between them.

Shoukry pointed to his country’s efforts to help its brothers, support the people’s will, and deal on the basis of interests and consideration, without any kind of conspiracy or targeting.

Shoukry indicated that his meeting with Dr. Faisal Miqdadwas frank and contained a lot of interest in the relations between the two peoples and the two governments.
