Shoigu informs Putin of the complete liberation of the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic

Moscow, (ST) – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin  that the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic has been completely   liberated  .

“Today, June 3, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, of the liberation of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Russian state media quoted Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov as saying, “Russian troops are fighting inside Lysychansk, completing the defeat of the encircled enemy.”

Konashenkov indicated that the Russian air defense systems shot down two Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in Dibrovnoyi, in the outskirts of Kharkov and Kvitnovo in the Nikolaev region, and 10 Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Novoy, Zaporozhye and Volnovakia regions in the Donetsk Republic, Dmitrovka, Izyum, Berezovka and Kobyansk, in addition to the Kharkiv region. Interception of eight missiles, including four Hemars, in the Stakhanov region of the Luhansk Republic and four “Uragan” missiles in the Popasnaya regions of the Lugansk Republic, Kamenka in the Kharkov region and the city of Donetsk.

According to Konashenkov, since the beginning of the special military operation, 229 combat aircraft, 134 helicopters, 1,440 drones, 353 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,893 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 704 multiple launchers, 3,078 field artillery and mortars and 3,979 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
